Playtime @ Vieira Park

We're fortunate to have a park within minutes of our house even though it took the developers MANY years to build one. To make sure Adrian gets plenty of fresh air and exercise, we're frequent visitors to many of the neighbourhood parks. Sometimes it's nice not having drive, but instead walk along a nice short path to reach a toddler friendly park. On this particular trip, we were rewarded with some of my all-time favorite shots of the little munchkin. Good job, honey! :)

Adrian in the Passenger Seat

Adrian is seriously showing some major signs of independence. From wanting to feed himself, buckling himself in his car seat and helping around the house. After spending an afternoon viewing the King Tut exhibition at the De Young Musuem, he decided that he's old enough to sit in the passenger seat besides Daddy and refused to go back to his lush and super cool Moo Moo car seat. The little guy eventually lost the battle and was returned to his seat, but of course he didn't do it so quietly! :(

My Lil Goofball

I'm almost certain if you were to look up the word, "Goofball" in the dictionary, you'll find Adrian's name! My little munchkin is always clowning around and is constantly surprising us with various goofy actions. We both enjoy his great sense of humor and encourage it at the same time! Here's the goofball being his goofy self under his beloved table. Sometimes, I feel that he has this goofy/cheeky look permanently etched on his cute little cherubic face! :)

Singing "Old MacDonald Had A Farm..."

This is a special recording of Adrian that never made it onto our website until now. Children music is regularly played in our baby mobile whenever Adrian is riding with us. One night on our drive back home, our little munchkin decided to sing along to his version of "Old MacDonald Had A Farm." At the end of the clip, he also says "Bye Bye" to signal that he's done singing and my cue to stop recording!!!

Looking back, I am so grateful that I had my Flip camera with me (a MUST HAVE in my purse) to capture this event as the little munchkin rarely ever sings along to this song! :( So here's a valuable advice from one parent to another -- ALWAYS have a camera or camera phone charged and handy! You never know when your child might do something silly, goofy, fun that you want to capture for memory sake, so better be prepared than regret it down the road! :)

Pristine's 3rd Birthday Party

I thought time goes by pretty quickly after I graduated from college and started working. Apparently, I was mistaken and that the truth is it goes on a faster acceleration plan after you have a child. I can't believe that my little munchkin is 19-months young! Where did all of the time go? Speaking of time, I can still remember little Pristine's Red Egg and Ginger party where she was just 1-month young and here we are celebrating her third birthday party at the Rainforest Cafe in San Francisco!

We had a terrific time catching up with the rest of the Tam family and making an animal balloon for little Adrian. For more pictures of Pristine's party, click here.
Happy 3rd Birthday, Pristine! :)

My favorite shot of the evening and the "money shot" goes to this next one of little Adrian and little Haley kissing! I hope this doesn't become a habit! :)

Adrian's 18-Month Check-Up

I'm behind on my blogs yet again! As a full time working Mum, I cherish every moment I spend with my little munchkin. The great thing about having little Adrian in my life is no matter how crazy or how stressful or how unsettling my day may be at work, coming home to this little guy makes my world a much happier place!

At Adrian's 18-Month Check-up in early March, he weighed in at 28lbs (with clothes b/c he was unusually fussy that day) and 32.75 inches tall. This translates to 90th and 50th percentile respectively. I'm not quite sure if those measurements were entirely accurate since the little munchkin wasn't fully cooperating with the nurse that morning, but Ed and I both know that our little guy is eating well, playing well and healthy and that's all that matters really!

See link for his previous check-up results at 15-months.
Adrian, the little trooper smiled for me even though he had just endured a shot. This was the last for a few more years (?)!

An Afternoon At Cuesta Park

We try our best to take the little munchkin to the park and let him blow off some steam! Well, not that he has any reason to, but really to allow the little guy to run, climb and partake in his favorite activity at the park -- go down the slide! Whee!!! His hand/leg coordination has greatly improved and he feels comfortable moving around in the play structure. Nevertheless, Ed and I are always a stone throw away to step in and provide a helping hand since he can be a little bit clumsy (just like me)! :)

New Table and Chair Set

I've been thinking that it would be nice for Adrian to have his own little table and chair set for some time now. After browsing on a number of websites such as Babies R Us, Target and even Amazon, I came up empty! There just wasn't anything remotely appealing about any of their offerings! Then I thought of Ikea. After browsing in their on-line kid's furniture section, we took a trip to the local Ikea and brought home this perfect set for our little boy. Since then, we've noticed that the little munchkin has traded in his time on being a couch potato with more time reading/playing/drawing at his new desk! This table set was definitely worth every penny!!!

"Peas" and "Q"

Having grown up in the UK, I was taught at a very early age to always say "Please" and "Thank You!" Even though I've been residing in the US for the past 16 years, I still carry out that tradition and plan for my children to follow suit.

Kids are very much like a sponge, especially Adrian now at the tender age of 19 months. We sometimes call him our "Parrot" because of how much he likes to repeat after us. So needless to say, it didn't take us long in succeeding to get the little munchkin to say (with his own spin of it) -- "Peas" and "Q!"

A Pair of Monkeys

Although, Adrian was born in the Year of the Rat, I often refer to him as my little monkey. His mannerisms and silliness is the primary reason for this! He is never one to be serious and you can usually always find a smile (cheeky expression) on his face, which I adore so much. I often find myself just staring at his cute little face and then I either find myself smiling back or break down in laughter.

During our recent trip back to the UK, my cousins worked tirelessly together to trade in their gaming tickets (at the arcades at Trocadero) for this little monkey! Both Ed and I were touched by their sweet gesture, but also thought that it was a very fitting prize for my little Monkey! Thanks Sharlene, Vi, Phuong, James and Joanne! :)

Shady

Who me? No way!!!
I picked up these shades waaaaaay before Adrian was old enough to wear them. Since then, every attempt to put them on his cute little cherubic face ended up being a major failure. Now that he's "older" and supposedly "wiser" and have seen countless others wearing shades, he's now a lot more comfortable reaching for them and having ME put it on for him. Kids!!!

Goofy Ed and his goofy Mini-Me Googly Eyes

These googly eyes came from one of Adrian's favorite books. One evening after work, Ed decided to place them on his face and of course, his mini-me had to copy except, he needed a little more assistance.

The Spaghetti Sauce Shot

Every child MUST have at least ONE messy spaghetti sauce mug shot and Adrian is no exception. We rarely cook with tomato sauce, but today was one of those rare occasions where we decided to clear up the pantry and get rid of the odd few jars of tomato sauce and throw together some pasta! We put a plate (or two) in front of the munchkin and voila --- our mission accomplished!!!

Chopsticks!

On a sunny Sunday in late January, our extended family met for lunch at Nha Toi Restaurant in San Jose. Our experience was in agreement with a Yelp review that the service was indeed slow, and the food was simply "okay." The portions seemed a little smaller than other Vietnamese restaurants.

The increasingly independent little fella amused himself with a pair of chopsticks while Mummy and Daddy wolfed down their lunch while simultaneously watched him out of the corner of our eyes. As parents of a little toddler boy, we ALWAYS have to make sure that our little munchkin is under adult supervision at all times.

To Infinity and Beyond...

An astronaut in the making? Or perhaps it's a bit too early to tell. Regardless, it sure looks like the little munchkin is having a ball inside a rocket at Valley Fair Mall.

Best wake up call ever!

Today, this mama was happily woken up by her little munchkin with kisses on the cheek and lips! It was by far the best wake up call ever! This more than makes up for his permanent presence (15 months and counting) in our Queen sized bed!
