Berkeley Kite Festival '10

We wanted to take Adrian to the Berkeley Kite Festival last year, but it conflicted with his birthday. Luckily, this year's event was held the week after so we were in luck. After finding the last parking spot in a parking lot many blocks away from the actual venue and skipping the shuttle service since that would mean folding and unfolding our stroller (no easy task since it separates into 2 pieces), we decided to power walk on over!
Although Adrian was reluctant to try the pony ride, he did have fun making a small kite that was free to the kids. Conveniently, I had picked up a small Mickey Mouse theme kite just the week before (while picking up his birthday party supplies) so the little guy had his own little kite to fly. All in all, it was a fun day for our little family!

Our Little Noodle Thief!

Ed is major instant noodle fan so it's not too surprising that Adrian inherited this trait also! In the mad hustle and bustle of our daily lives, Ed usually happily resort to noodles for dinner. On this evening, when Ed stepped away from the dining table and his big bowl of noodles, our little scavenger climbed into his seat and helped himself to daddy's noodles. What was most surprising to us is that this was the first time the little fella used a pair of chopsticks and was extremely successful in grabbing ahold of the noodles and feeding himself with it! It's amazing what you can do when you really want something. In this case, I guess Adrian really wanted those noodles even though he was far from being hungry! LOL! :)

Adrian's 2nd Bday Celebration -- Part II

Adrian was extra lucky this year and got to celebrate his Birthday twice!!! Yesterday, he spent a nice afternoon with all of his little friends at Pump It Up and then he got to celebrate it all over again with his Mama and Yeh Yeh at San Francisco Zoo! It was his first trip to SF Zoo too! And to top that off, we had a joint family Birthday dinner celebration at King Sing Hong Kong Cuisine in San Francisco with Uncle James (in picture below) and Great Uncle Michael! Happy Birthday Y'all!

Adrian's 2nd Bday Celebration -- Part I

Event: Adrian's 2nd Birthday
Place: Pump It Up in Milpitas
Date: Saturday, July 24

Adrian's second birthday was an extra special one. He and all 20 of his friends spent a few hours jumping, climbing and sliding around giant inflatable jump houses. Although, Adrian may appear scared in his pictures, he really did have fun going down the slide! :)

Similar to last year, this year's theme was also Mickey Mouse! This may be the last year as Adrian has recently taken on a major interest in Toy Story, particularly Buzz lightyear! I'm sure his interest will change again by the time he reaches 3!

We like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate this special day with Adrian. Special thanks to our wonderful friend and "part-time" baker, Jasmine for making us such spectacular cakes! Even though there was a mishap with the original cake, Adrian loved the second one just as well! :)

Check out the party pics under our gallery or directly here. Enjoy!

Family Day @ Academy of Sciences

Ed had a 4 day Independence Day holiday so I decided to extend mine by an additional day and tag along with him and Adrian to the Academy of Sciences. We deliberately avoided going on a weekend since we've heard how crowded it gets yet surprisingly enough, it was quite crowded even on a Monday!
Adrian is still a bit too young to fully appreciate an amazing place like the the Academy of Sciences, so we're not planning to become members until he's a few years older.

Happy 4th of July & Happy 1st Birthday, Carter!

This year's Independence day was an eventful one. First off, we celebrated little Carter's 1st birthday at Thanh Duoc Restuarant in Milpitas and then hung out with the party peeps over several games of Poker! Later that evening, we returned home to watch fireworks outside our house! Adrian wasn't so interested in the fireworks even though we were at a prime location where the view of lots of different fireworks from all around the valley were openly viewable. Instead, he just preferred to walk around our neighbourhood and look for doggies so he could play with. All in all, it was a very enjoyable 4th of July!
Happy Independence Day & Happy 1st Birthday, Carter!

Play Time @ Emma Prusch Park

I sometimes envy Adrian in that his life is quite simple and fun. He sleeps well in our comfy bed, eats well (Grandma makes food from scratch for him Monday through Friday), he gets to play with his cousins at "Grandma Day Care" and his parents take him out as much as possible, especially to the local park! There's no stress from work, or long hours in the office or not a single care in the world! How I would love to trade places with him for a day, month or year! :)
