6-Month Wellness Check-up

Getting comfy on the scales. Of course the diaper were removed for the weigh-in as I wouldn't want to fudge the numbers! :)

Well, I am officially 6 months and 5 days old! Today, Mummy and Daddy brought me into the clinic for my 6-month wellness check-up! I measure 27.5 inches tall and weigh 18 lb 3 oz (75% and 48% percentile with respectively). Dr. Pediatrician said I'm growing and developing at a healthy rate. I couldn't help but notice that she and my parents were discussing the topic of baby food. Ooooh baby food! Little does she know that I'm already a huge fan of solids! Sometimes much to Mummy's embarrassment because I can detect food from "a mile away" and my eyes are capable of quickly darting away from what I was focusing on onto the food (in any shape or form, and whether it's in a bowl, plate or even in a cup) even if it's not intended for me. For some reason, I'm intrigued by all of the stuff that the grown ups gets to eat. I can't wait until I get to try them too! :)

I can rollover from my back onto my tummy from either sides now, but I seldom roll back over from my tummy back onto my back. Mummy has witnessed this momentous occasion, but I rarely repeat it. While on my back (usually while getting my diaper changed), I love to scoot my whole body towards my feet. It's not that I have an itchy back or anything, it's just that I still don't know what else to do with my body. There's an Elmo walker that I chill in at Grandma's and boy am I good at getting from point A to B. For the most part, I can steer the walker pretty well for a 6-month old! The walker is set to the second to highest setting (partly due to my long limbs) and enough for me to plant my two feet firmly on the ground. Mummy and Daddy prefer it this way as they don't want me to walk on my tipsy toes when that day finally arrives.

Daddy holding me after braving 4 shots and an oral injection. 4 shots instead of the standard 3 because I'm old enough for the two-step flu shot. I'll be heading back in a month for part 2 and I'm not looking forward to it! :(
