Adrian's 1st Slice of Pizza

Adrian has eaten his fair share of junk food, but Pizza has never made it on the list. At a poker event/Birthday get-together for Mark, I introduced the little fella to his first slice of pizza. I honestly didn't expect for him to grab the entire slice and nibble off it! I'm sure this will be the first of many to come! :)

Our little Parrot

This is an old clip taken over 2 months ago that never made it to our website where Adrian is acting like a parrot and repeating everything that I say. One weekend many months ago, I said, "here comes trouble" referring to the little munchkin as he entered the room and he repeated the word, which came out sounding like "bubble". In this clip, he's repeating "Mummy, Daddy, Brother, Grandma, Grandpa" after me in Cantonese and then my little darling said "bubble"! :)

Happy 18th Month, Adrian!

With each passing month, my little baby is growing older and moving further & further away from being the little infant that used to fit comfortably in my arms into a very independent, very active and tall little toddler! Not only does he want to feed himself and do almost everything himself, he's also developed a very impressive vocabulary. He constantly surprises us with new words that he either picked up from his cousins, TV or from others around him. Just the other day, we heard him say, "see ya!" Additionally, he's added "cheers", "super cheers", "telescope" (all from watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), "dung" (light), "shui" (book) and "Park" (due to his many trips to the local Parks) into his vocabulary and various others that I can't recall at this time.

When it comes to feeding time, he's eager to feed himself. His hand/mouth coordination has drastically improved and he is able to actually feed himself with his utensils instead of watching the food roll off the spoon or fork. There are times he would bypass the utensils and use his fingers instead, but overall, we've noticed a huge improvement.

Adrian is still very fond of books and is now getting into scribbling. He knows how to communicate when he wants to draw and we gladly provide the colouring pencil and pad for him to draw!

Lastly, much to my delight, my little munchkin has recently learned to kiss me upon request! Boy does this make this mama one super duper happy Mum! :)

In the Sandpit

After attending our friends, Irene and Tim's co-ed baby shower in the city, we took Adrian to the awesome kid's playground at Golden Gate Park. After multiple rides down the slide, Adrian wandered over to the sandpit and promptly sat his cute little bottom down. He was a bit apprehensive of having the sand in his hands, but got over it quickly and appeared to enjoy sitting in the sandpit (even though it was slightly damp from the recent rain).

Helping Daddy...

Our little munchkin has never been one to shy away from "helping" others! He doesn't mind rolling up his sleeves and getting down to business as seen below where he snuck in and "attempted" to help his dad re-situate the speakers.

Balancing Act...

on the dishwasher door of all places?!?!?

Adrian has always been fascinated with our dishwasher. Perhaps it's because we usually keep the door closed while we use it as a drying rack, which may peak his interest even more. Little does he know, we keep it closed to prevent possible injuries and scenarios shown below. Our little daredevil is fearless or just doesn't know the possible consequences of his actions. Either way, this gives you some insight to all of the non-stop work we have to do when the little guy is around (and why there is so much clutter on the counter tops)! :) See link for an earlier post of Adrian and our "infamous" dishwasher! :)

How to Stay Cool

Our little munchkin is resourceful in his ability to locate/use things in his surroundings and having fun with it. Adrian found our cooler in this kitchen and like many curious and super active little toddlers, he wanted to climb inside. The problem with this is once he was inside, he was just too comfortable and didn't want out!

How to Read from a Menu

We had pho at our favorite Pho place -- Pho 54 in San Jose. Adrian insisted on us giving him the menu and this is what he decided to do with it. Yup, that would be our silly monkey alright! :)

Adrian's Lego Buddy

Adrian sitting casually besides his Lego buddy that his Daddy helped put together. Adrian has never been keen on building things with his Lego pieces, but rather separate anything that we build for him to play with. I guess that rules out a potential career in architecture! Bummer! :)

Adrian's New Chair

This plush microfiber recliner comes fully equipped with a "milk bottle" (cup) holder was the main Xmas gift to our little munchkin! I love the way Adrian rotates his little body to climb up the chair and how he holds onto his plush little characters while he watches his favorite show, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". I'm delighted that he loves his little chair! I, for one, know I would love it if I were in his shoes many many many years ago! :)
